Esther Day Post #2- My Dad
Dad,
I think the older I get, the more I realize you and I have a lot in common. We’re both stubborn as hell, sometimes short tempered, and loyal to our beliefs. Of course, we have different beliefs, so that means we’ve had our disagreements. But you’re still my dad, and since most of the time we can set aside our differences, we’ve had some really great times.
I love how you always try to learn about the things I’m interested in, even if you aren’t interested in them at all. You barely knew a thing about horses before you met Mom, and now you can watch a horse show and give me an accurate critique of how I did. And when I started watching Doctor Who, you were willing to watch some as well. And don’t lie- you like it!
You are always trying to teach me something. Sometimes I didn’t get the lesson until a while afterwards, but I always got there in the end. And I’ve learned a lot from you, like how to work for my goals and how to be flexible. I love you, Dad.
